Police Uncover Baby Factory in Ogun, Obstruct Child Sales, Trafficking
The Police, responding to intelligence, uncovered a baby factory in Ogun State, South West Nigeria. The Police disrupted sales of newly burn children and trafficking of others by the proprietor.
The Ogun State Police Command disclosed that some pregnant women and children were rescued in the operation.
The Command said the illegal facility was raided following a tip-off. According to the police, during the operation, officers arrested suspects and freed victims who were allegedly being kept for sales, illegal adoption and trafficking purposes.
The command said investigations are ongoing, adding that the rescued women and children have been taken into protective custody for medical care and rehabilitation.
The police assured that those found culpable will face prosecution.
