Police Impound 26 Unregistered Vehicles In Delta
The police have impounded 26 unregistered vehicles in Delta State in enforcement of the directive of the Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu, as proactive security measure against kidnapping and other crimes in the country.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Delta State Command, Asaba, Edafe Bright, in a statement indicated that the operation was personally led by the state Police Commissioner, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, who directed officers and men of the Command to impound the vehicles for flaunting the orders of the Inspector General of Police.
Vehicles with concealed, obscured, altered and defaced plate numbers, whose owners could not give credible information, were impounded and owners arraigned before a mobile court sitting in Asaba for the relevant offences.
CP Yemi Oyeniyi declared that the command would sustain the operation across Delta State, and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operations to ensure strict compliance with the directives across the Area commands, divisions and tactical formations.
