Oyo state government, on Wednesday, received 32 Nigerians from South Africa of Oyo state origin, gifting them N30,000 each.

The returnees were received by the Deputy Governor, Mr Rauf Olaniyan who assured them of the state government support when Director of Media, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mr Abdulrahman Balogun led the 30 Oyo born returnees to the state governor’s office in Ibadan.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the deputy governor, Mr Rauf Olaniyan said the state government will carry out a profiling of the returnees to ascertain their specific area of needs and attend to them while he advised them to be creative to identify and tap into investment and job opportunities in the state.

On their part, Abdulrahaman Balogun, Special Adviser on Media to Abike Dabiri-Erewa and the Director of the Oyo State Emergency Management Agency, Luggard Slaku advised the returnee to venture into profitable businesses.

Some of the returnees to include, Olakojo Sotunde, Okeleye Oluwaseun, Lawal Bolatito decried the inhuman treatment they received while in South Africa just as they looked up to government for startup capital and jobs.

It is hoped that the returnees will find a home as sweet as promised and be properly re-integrated. The returnees surely need our support.
