Update: Emergency Workers Rescue 16 Trapped Victims, Recover 2 Dead Bodies From Collapsed Two-Storey Building In Lagos
Emergency workers which comprise operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service have provided an update on the ongoing search and rescue operations at the site of the collapsed two-storey building at Alakija, Old Ojo Road, along the Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
The Controller General, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, in a statement indicated that rescue operations are still ongoing. She stated that six additional victims have been successfully rescued from the debris, bringing the number of survivors to 16.
"Regrettably, two persons have been recovered dead," she lamented.
The Controller General stated that emergency responders remain on the scene, working tirelessly to ensure that all affected persons are accounted for and to safeguard the area.
Further updates will be communicated as rescue operations progress, she said.
