The Chairman of Ikwere Local Government Area, Rivers State, Wobodo Charles, led a coordinated rescue operation that secured the freedom of two kidnap victims along the Airport Road/Ipo new road.

The Council Chairman, after receiving a distress call from a resident who witnessed the abduction, alerted security agencies before joining the security operatives in combing the surrounding bushes where the victims were taken to.

The coordinated search operations put pressure on the kidnappers, who abandoned the victims and fled.

The victims have since been taken to the hospital after the incident was reported at the police station for proper documentation.
