The Northern Senators Forum has condemned last Friday's terrorist attack in Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State, the territory where President Bola Tinubu was coronated Jagaban. Gunmen invaded the territory and abducted hundreds of worshippers at Kpenya Mosque after Jumat prayers.

The Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar'Adua, in a statement, described the security breach, which also occurred in Gidan Zana and Kpenya villages, as barbaric.

The Forum called on the Nigerian Armed Forces, Police and DSS to intensify rescue operations for the safe release of all abductees.

The Forum also urged the Federal Government to send urgent relief and strengthen security in Borgu and other border communities.
