INEC Urges Peaceful Elections in Kano Re-run

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,  is urging a peaceful re-run election scheduled to take place in some parts of Kano State on Saturday. The Kano state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Riskuwa Arabu said peace is needed to conduct a free and fair elections anywhere in the world and promised that INEC on its part would be neutral and fair to all parties vying for positions in the Kura/Bebeji and Tudun Wada/Doguwa federal constituency elections were the elections are going to take place on January 25.

He said that sensitive materials are being moved from the state headquarters to the various voting points were the elections have been scheduled to take place.  The court of appeal at various sittings in Kaduna ordered a re-run of elections in some parts of Kano which include Kura/Bebeji  and Tudun Wada/Doguwa federal constituencies

The elections earlier won by Jubril Abdulmumuni of Bebeji and Alhasan Doguwa of Doguwa Town were initially annulled due to violence and other electoral irregularities
