The Benue State House of Assembly has suspended immediate past Chairman of Association of Local Government Chairmen, ALGON, in Benue, Vitalis Neji, for one month.

The legislators suspended Neji during plenary in Makurdi, after the ADHOC committee investigated allegations of gross misconduct in its report submitted to the House.

Investigating abuse of office by the Chairman of Kwande Local Government, Vitalis Neji, the Benue State House of Assembly dissolved into committee of the whole and considered the report, alongside others.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alfred Emberga, who read out the resolution by the committee; and after the consent of the lawmakers, unanimously agreed and suspended the chairman from office to allow for proper investigation.
