Plateau Killing: Northern Senators Insist On Arrest, Prosecution of Perpetrators

Senators from the 19 northern states under the aegis of Northern Senators Forum (NSF) have urged the federal government to do all within its powers to identify, apprehend and punish those behind the recent violence in Jos, Plateau State.

 
A statement by  by Senator Suleiman Kawu Sumaila, Spokesperson of the Forum in the 10th National Assembly, condemned the acts and expressed the forum’s condolences to the affected families and the Government of the state.
 
The Senators described the killing as barbaric, inhuman and callous nothing that the brutal act is indefensible, devoid of reason, and stains on humanity.
 

The Northern  Lawmakers, unequivocally condemn such heinous acts and express their deepest condolences to the affected families, loved ones, the people, and the Government of Plateau State.

They added that their immense loss is a collective grief, and stand united in their determination to seek justice.

The Lawmakers strongly condemn this reprehensible act and call upon the authorities to promptly initiate a comprehensive investigation.

According to them, allocating necessary resources to swiftly identify and apprehend the perpetrators is paramount adding  that, perpetrators must face the full force of the law, ensuring justice prevails.

They called for unity among the people, especially at this trying period saying, the people of plateau state must draw on their shared values of compassion, empathy and respect to support one another and provide solace to those affected.

The Senators urged the federal government to consolidate investigation reports of similar cases, taking necessary action to prevent future occurrences.
