Oyo govt sets to revoke land allocation

Oyo govt sets to revoke land allocation

Oyo state government has declared its readiness to revoke over 300 parcels of land which had been allocated to members of the public with irregularities in the allocation process.


The commissioner for lands, housing and urban development in the state, Barrister Abiodun Abdul-Raheem who addressed journalists at the end of state executive council meeting held at the governor's office disclosed that the decision is premised on the fact that due process must be observed.

Abdul-Raheem added that the revocation will affect people with multiple allocations and those that have allocation but are yet to take concrete action on their allocation.

Also, the commissioner disclosed that the state executive council has put up for sale 38 semi-detached bungalows at carton gate estate Akobo in Ibadan, the state capital, to interested members of the public should endeavour to apply. He said further that the state government would soon release the modalities for the purchase.

Kunle Ojo also reported that the state executive council has also approved running grants to public schools in the state. Recall that the present administration at its inception cancelled all forms of payments by pupils in public and private schools in the state.
