NSCDC Calls for Strict Compliance with Lockdown Directive

The Oyo State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Iskilu Akinsanya has called on members of the public to adhere strictly to the guidelines and rules of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to stop the spread of Coronavirus across the State.

The Commandant disclosed this at the opening of a-day training for officers of the Command on the Role of Security Personnel in Containment of COVID-19 Outbreak organised by the NCDC for security stakeholders in Nigeria

Akinsanya, while speaking on the Role and Responsibilities of security agencies, admonished officers and men to implement government’s directives on curfew and Inter-State lockdown with the fear of God and professionalism.

He encouraged them to cooperate with sister agencies and relevant authorities such as NCDC by ensuring consistency of messages to communities and share their feedback with relevant Authorities.

In another development, the enforcement team of Oyo state command swooped on Ikolaba mosque and enforced lockdown order of the federal and state government banning religious activities on COVID-19 following intelligence report on the activities of the group.

The worshippers on the arrival of officers and men of NSCDC took to their heel. 

The command, therefore, warned all religious bodies in the state to obey the law and comply with the rules and regulations regarding COVID-19,),  as erring persons would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
