Non-academic staff protest over outstanding earned allowance

Members of the non-academic staff union of universities (nasuu) and the senior staff association of Nigerian universities (nasuu) have staged a peaceful protest at the university of Ilorin, Kwara state to call the attention of the federal government to their outstanding earned allowance and other issues.

The members of the unions said they are warming up for another round of industrial action.

They stress that  basis for their protest is their outstanding earned allowance, adding that the federal government released 25 billion naira some years ago to settle the outstanding earned allowance of workers of federal universities.

They claimed that the academic union members took 80 per cent of the total sum leaving the remaining 3 non-academic unions with just 20 per cent.
