NIN Registration: NIMC Staff Embark on Strike

Activities at the National identification management commission were grounded on Thursday as workers began an indefinite strike.

The action is coming on the heels of controversies caused by the quest to merge NIN and SIM card by telecommunication firms.

NIMC Union chairman Lucky Asekokhai who addressed journalists in Abuja lamented lack of welfare for the workers who do extra effort to serve Nigerians.

Lucky stated that the picketing sparked due to unfulfilled promises of the federal government.

He lamented poor welfare of the workers particularly amid Advent of the coronavirus pandemic calling on government to do the needful towards their welfare.

Some Nigerians who were on ground to acquire the National identification number also lamented poor service from the organization calling on them expedite action and ensure that Nigerians register for the number without stress.

The citizens also sued for better ways of handling of government new programs when being introduced and implemented.
