Legislative activities at the Benue State House of Assembly complex has been put off as Parliamentary staff staged a peaceful protest to press home their demand over financial autonomy, minimum wage among other issues.

While legislators, clerk of the house were barred from entering the complex for the day's sitting, the union leader, Francis Adole, said what is happening now is an indefinite strike action by Parliamentary staff not only in Benue but across other states of the federation.

The state chairman of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Francis Adole, informed that the presidential executive order ten of 2020 be implemented, stating that the federal government has not shown sincerity in addressing the plights of their staffs in recent minimum wage negotiations.

The staffs with placards are still holding forth pending when the speaker addresses them on the way forward.
