2027: Former IGP Mohammed Adamu Endorsed As APC Guber Aspirant in Lafi

Former Inspector General of Police, (IGP)’ Muhammed Adamu has been endorsed ad APC governorship aspirant by the Political Stakeholders in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State to contest the 2027 governorship election. The large crowd who converged in the state capital threw their weight behind the former Inspector General of Police, urging him to contest the 2027 Governorship Election.
Speaking at a town hall meeting in Lafia, Chairman of the group,, Professor Mohammed Akaro Mainoma, explained that the endorsement followed a thorough assessment of Alhaji Mohammed Adamu Abubakar’s track record and a shared vision for fostering unity and driving economic recovery in the state.
Addressing the stakeholders, party supporters, Former Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University Keffi and Chairman of the town hall meeting, Professor Mohammed Akaro Mainoma, described Alhaji Mohammed Adamu as a distinguished public servant whose career has spanned national and international platforms.
He emphasized that Nasarawa State stands to benefit from unprecedented socio-economic growth and lasting stability if Alhaji Adamu is entrusted with leadership in 2027.Also speaking, the Guest Speaker, Musa Husseini, highlighted the aspirant’s leadership qualities, citing inclusivity, grassroots engagement, justice, and respect for human dignity as hallmarks of his style.
The endorsement of the former IGP was as a result of the wide consultations and the track records of his activities before that have endeared the people to accept him as their popular choice ahead 2027 across the state and beyond”.
The Member representing Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency, Alhaji Sarki Dahiru, a member of the Social Democratic Party SDP described the endorsement of Alhaji Mohammed Adamu as a commendable move that transcends party lines. He noted that such unity is a significant step toward advancing the development of Nasarawa State.
Responding, the APC Governorship aspirant, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu, expressed gratitude for the support, especially from members of his local government area. He said consultations are still ongoing and urged supporters to remain law-abiding and respectful of INEC guidelines, as the official campaign season is yet to begin. The event was climax with the symbolic presentation of traditional regalia to the aspirant by various ethnic groups in recognition of his endorsement.
