Sunday Igboho's Iru Ekun Arrests 2 Kidnappers From Niger Republic In Osun

Operatives of the Iru Ekun Security Network, founded by Sunday Adeyemo Igboho, during a coordinated operation, arrested two suspected kidnappers in Ora-Igbomina, Osun State. The operation also led to the rescue of two abducted civilians, while a search for the third victim continues.

The intervention followed distress intelligence received on Tuesday that three residents of the community were abducted by armed men and forced into a nearby forest. In line with its mandate of “Securing Communities, Protecting Futures,” the Iru Ekun rapid response team mobilized and commenced a bush-combing operation within hours.

According to the Team Leader of Iru Ekun Security Outfit, the suspects confessed during preliminary interrogation that they were nationals of the Republic of Niger.

The suspects admitted to abducting three persons on June 9, 2026, and leading them into the forest. During contact with Iru Ekun operatives, the two kidnappers were overpowered, subdued, and apprehended while attempting to resist arrest. The team immediately secured and evacuated two of the victims, who were found unhurt. A full-scale search-and-rescue operation is currently ongoing to locate and safely extract the third victim.

The apprehended suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Division, Oke-Ila, Osun State, for proper documentation, investigation, and prosecution.

Iru Ekun Security Network emphasizes that its mandate remains strictly complementary to the constitutional duties of the Nigeria Police Force and other statutory security agencies.
