Yoruba Patriotic Movement Vows to Support Credible Yoruba Aspirants in 2023
Ahead of 2023 general election, the Yoruba Patriotic Movement has resolved to rally genuine political aspirants or individuals from the southwest with a demonstrated pedigree of commitment to the ideals of leadership and welfare program.
The Pan Yoruba Group in a communiqué issued at a summit held at the international conference centre, University of Ibadan also promised to work in collaboration with stakeholders across political camps for the realization of the objective of supporting the ambition of politicians from the Southwest.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the summit which was attended by some Yoruba leaders from the south-west region to offer genuine leadership
to Nigerians at the federal level.
They lauded the contributions of the former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to the rapid development of the region saying they will support his ambitions at any time.
Not only this, the Pan Yoruba Group equally declared support for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu pronouncement that Fulani herdsmen should vacate all forest reserve in the state adding that this will put an end to unwarranted killings of innocent residents.
They further called on other southwest Governors to follow his footstep and ensure the security of lives and property in their domains.
Other speakers at the summit stressed the need for Yoruba leaders to rise up and move the region forward through quality engagement adding that it is high time for the Yoruba to take their place in the political landscape of Nigeria.
