NSCDC Arraigns Two Suspected Rapists

NSCDC Arraigns Two Suspected Rapists

An Ibadan Family Court 2 has remanded two suspected rapists at Abolongo Correctional Centre in Oyo till September.

The first suspect, Kayode Akinsile, 60, was arrested on 15th June and was granted bail but was later arrested for defiling a minor on 7th July 2021.

Oyo State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) CC Adaralewa Michael today disclosed at the State Command Headquarters Agodi, Ibadan that the two suspects have been charged to court this morning by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit and had been remanded at Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo.

The first suspect Kayode Akinsile, 60, M, of Alafara Ona Ara, Ibadan was first arrested on 15th June 2021 and was granted bail but went ahead to defile another minor and was rearrested on 7th July 2021.

The second suspect Dr. Ajelere Ajewumi, 68, from Oki Olodo, Ibadan was arrested for illegal adoption and defilement of a 14-year-old girl.

The Chief Magistrate, Adetoyibo of family court 2, Iyaganku, Ibadan after hearing the charges against the two suspects said the two suspects should be remanded in prison till September. 

The two suspects were charged to court by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The State Commandant of the Corp,  Adaralewa Michael said that the two suspects were arraigned after Forensic, Medical examination and thorough investigation.

He advised parents to be more responsible in caring for their children, while he encouraged the children to be disciplined and be good ambassadors of their various homes and families.
