Kidnappers Abduct Two Female Students in Ogun, Demand N50m Ransom

Gunmen have abducted two female students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago Iwoye in Ogun State.

The victims - Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola - were reportedly abducted on Sunday night at OOU Campus in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.

Galaxy TV learnt that the kidnappers swooped on the agricultural students in front of their hostel at Olowu area of Ayetoro, and disappeared into the thin air.

A source told our correspondent that the abductors have reached out to the victims' family and demanded a sum of N50 million for the release of the students.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident to Galaxy TV on Monday.

He said the students were abducted at midnight and a joint security team has been dispatched to trail the kidnappers and secure the release of the victims.

Correspondent John Felix reports that Yewa North LG has been the epicentre of insecurity in the state following the recent farmer-herder clashes which claimed many lives and destroyed property.

Meanwhile, the Yewa North Patriotic Forum, the youths group in the area, has called in Governor Dapo Abiodun to order the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun to relocate to Yewa North noting that the Ayetoro area has not been enjoying proper policing.
