In its effort to support the federal government policy on effective measures to preserve the ozone layers, the Department of Petroleum Resources has urged Nigerians to utilize the use of domestic gas for cooking.

This was disclosed by the operations controller of the DPR in Bayelsa state Mrs Ejiro Utondu during the routine surveillance operations by the DPR to ensure compliance of best practices by gas plant owners.

Fielding questions from newsmen after inspecting and sealing two Gas plants who fall short of the required standards, the operations controller spoke on the exercise.

She stressed on the need for erring gas plant operators to rectify anomalies or face permanent closure during the next visit.

Eight Gas plants were visited during the routine operation across the state while two were sealed for operating without a valid license.
