Strike Goes on until Our Demand is Met - Food Stuff/Cattle Dealers

The Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria has condemned the intimidation and harassment of members of the Union by security personnel in the country.

Secretary to the union, comrade Ahmed Alarama made the condemnation while addressing journalists in Abuja, Monday.

The union said it has lost one hundred and fifty-one members in the Shasha crisis, not less than a hundred to the END SARS protest in 2020 and goods worth billions of Naira destroyed

Alarama also said the right of its members is been violated by security personnel to stop the ongoing strike adding that, the union will not retreat until issues raised are addressed.

He called on the government to tackle the general insecurity in the country, guarantee the safety of its members whom he alleged are being kidnapped and killed on a daily basis.

The traders, however, demanded the dismantling of illegal roadblocks mounted on the highways by hoodlums in total disregard of the laws of the Federal government.
