FG plans befitting retirement for sport athletes
The President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government of Nigeria has assured sports athletes across the federation of a more befitting welfare package especially as it concerns their retirement.
The minister of youths and sports Mr Sunday Dare disclose this while addressing participants at the ongoing sports' summit in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
Dare who regretted how poorly some athletes retires said the present regime of Buhari has put in place some stringent plans to change the narrative.
The Minister also assures Imo state of the much-desired partnership with the federal government.
Governor Emeka Ihedioha who played host to the minister, however, assures the state of the enabling ground to allow the state to benefit immensely from the partnership.
The chairman Imo state sports commission Mr Fan Ndubuoke said the summit couldn't have come at a better time as it addresses the major problems facing the sports in the state and Nigeria at a large.
He lauded the approach of Governor Emeka Ihedioha in support of sport development in the state.
