The Police arrested 8 suspects for armed robbery and gun running in Delta State. The suspects are currently detained at the Delta State Police Command Headquarters, Asaba.

The Police Publ;ic Relations Officer, PPRO, Delta State Command, Edafe Bright, said they were arrested by operatives of the Anti-Cult group, in collaboration with the Civilian Anti-Cult, who trailed them to the Asaba-Benin expressway.

The PPRO said four locally made firearms, four live cartridges, one expended cartridge, a knife and other incriminating exhibits were recovered from them.

The arrested suspects were identified to be members of a gun running syndicate operating between Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South LGA, and Asaba.

The Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reiterated the Command's unwavering commitment to sustaining intelligence-led and proactive policing operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks in the state.
