The Allied People’s Movement, APM, has unveiled Ogbomoso-born politician and entrepreneur, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the in Oyo State, in the buildup to the of 2027 general elections.

The party's governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi, presented his running mate to APM leaders, party members, stakeholders and loyalists at the party’s Secretariat in Oke Ado, Ibadan.

The governorship candidate had earlier called for a minute of silence for the slain teacher and security personnel who lost their lives in the Oriire Local Government abduction, praying to God to grant government and security agencies success in safe rescue of the abductees.

According to Adekanmbi, he and Open Salawu were selected to complement each other in the task of sustaining the development of Oyo State as championed by Governor Seyi Makinde under Omitutun 1.0 and Omitutun 2.0 in the last seven years.

Open Salawu urged party members to support them. He maintained that the APM must win Oyo State to sustain the tempo of development and positive turnaround being experienced in the state as a result of the people-centred leadership of Governor Makinde.
