The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in the 2027 general elections, Peter Obi, has eulogized former Nigerian Head of State and military President, retired General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, on his 85th birthday.

Obi in a goodwill message wrote inter alia: "As an elder respected statesman and a significant figure in our nation's political history, your enduring insights, commitment to national unity, and wisdom remain invaluable as we collectively strive to build a more secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria."
