Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State is seeking stronger support and collaboration with traditional rulers in the 18 local government areas of the state, to tackle the menace of insecurity and other criminal activities.

The governor at a security stakeholders meeting with traditional rulers from the Edo Central and Edo North Senatorial District at the Government House, Benin City, emphasized the need for collective involvement in the battle to contain the insecurity crisis in the state.

The meeting with traditional rulers by the governor is coming at a time when the state is facing serious security challenges, ranging from Cultism, kidnapping and other criminal vices.

The governor stressed the importance of the traditional rulers, as critical stakeholders, traditional ruler of Uromi, who spoke on behalf of others, passed a vote of confidence on the governor and promised total support.

The governor promised a broader meeting with the traditional rulers, in ensuring that no stone is left unturned in checking the menace posed by Cultism and Kidnapping in the state.
