The leadership of the Ogun state police command has been challenged to step up intelligence gathering to stem the tides of criminality and criminal activities in the state

This was part of the resolution at the security summit held in Abeokuta, the state capital aimed at finding solutions to insecurity and ensure safety of life and property.

Addressing participants at the occasion, the state commissioner of police, Basir Makama called for an effective community policing while not losing sight for a renewed family value system.

Attended by the state director of the State Security Service, religious and, community, leaders of thought and officials of the police community relations committee, the security summit afforded participants drawn from various communities to talk about the current security challenge in their areas while they also ordered solutions to ensure lasting solutions

The state commissioner of police while acknowledging the rise in the cases of cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping and the need for collaboration and understanding between the police and residents also challenged parents to be more alive to their responsibilities

Adequate security of life and property remains the duty of everyone, and all hands must be on deck to ensure this is achieved
