Seventy-seven days after being in kidnappers den at the remote creeks of Bayelsa state, Mother of former super Eagles skipper and Coach Samson Siasia has been released by her abductors.

The 80-year-old Mrs Beauty Ogere Siasia who was released in the early hours of today was led to her community at Odoni in Sagbama local government area of Bayelsa state by sympathizers and family members.

Speaking on the release of the octogenarian, the Bayelsa police commissioner Uche Anozia said the collective efforts of the community and the police paid off.

On their part, the mother of Samson Siasia said she was abducted as a result of her son’s popularity as other released victims spoke on their travail.

Recall that the kidnap of Siasia's mother was the second time after ransom was paid for her first release, while Samson Siasia claimed to have paid N1.5M last week for her release before her abductors released her despite earlier threat to kill her.
