Rohr's Job Shaky As Minister Orders In-Depth Performance Review from 2016
The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has ordered an in-depth assessment of the performance index Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr.
Dare gave the order amidst speculations that the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF may have resolved to sack the Super Eagles head coach.
At the weekly briefings usually coordinated by the Presidential Communications Team, which held at the State House, Abuja, Dare while fielding questions from reporters, categorically said that no decision has been taken on Rohr yet.
According to him, NFF has been directed to as a matter of urgency present Rohr’s report card to the ministry, adding that he is interested in knowing how well or bad the coach has performed since he was given the task of leading the Super Eagles.
He said until the NFF presents the report of the performance of the coach to the ministry, there will not be a decision on whether to sack or allow him to continue on the job.
Recall that Rohr who was appointed Super Eagles coach in August 2016, has come under intense criticisms following the Super Eagles poor performances in recent outings.
The 68-year-old German tactician signed an extension in May 2020.
