Police Authority Advocate Alternative Dispute Resolution

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has challenged officers and men to adopt alternative dispute resolution and be more civil in order to restore the much needed mutual respect and confidence with members of the general public.

He was represented by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of research and planning,   DIG, Oyeneye Oyebade in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital at the introduction of the 320 special constabulary police officers and sensitization on community policing held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in the state capital.

While seeking the understanding and cooperation of other security operatives and other critical stakeholders, the inspector general of police says community policing remains the way go to in order to effectively strengthen the internal security and security architecture of the country.

The deputy inspector general of police, while delivering the goodwill message of the inspector general asked officers to be more civil while embracing the alternative dispute resolution system.

And as a security threat to the state, the Ogun state governor represented by his chief of staff, Salish Shuaib seized the occasion to appeal to residents to be moderate while celebrating during the Yuletide and adhere strictly to coronavirus safety protocols in the face of the second wave of the pandemic.

The security of life and properties remain the duty of everyone and all measures are being put in place to improve the situation
