Ogun Customs Talk Tough as Lockdown Order Stands

The Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun Area Command 1, is taking it tough with smugglers in the state; as their illicit activities persist amidst total lockdown order.

According to Ogun Area 1 Controller Michael Agbara, the command remains on top of its games particularly at this trying period of COVID-19 pandemic already affecting the nation's economy.

Addressing Newsmen at the Idiroko headquarters, the controller says the command intercepted contrabands with duty paid value worth over one billion Naira in the first quarter of the year.

He adds that the command special taskforce got hold of nine vehicles fully loaded with smuggled parboiled rice, amongst other illegal products.

Agbara says the command generated over thirty-seven million naira revenue from the auction of intercepted petroleum products.

The customs boss assures that, the command will remain resolute and committed to helping Nigerian governments by bringing economic saboteurs to their knee
