The Delta police commissioner CP Olufemi Abaniwonda has charged the Anti-kidnapping squad drafted to Delta state by the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to tackle kidnapping and other forms of criminality, to intensify the search for the killers of the Divisional Police Officer of Agbarho killed by kidnappers in the early hours of Monday.

CP Abaniwonda gave the charge in a statement he personally signed and made available to our correspondent, said the time has come to take the fight to the criminals in every nook and corners of the state, in ensuring that those doing their legal businesses are not harassed or killed.

He stressed that he believes in the capacity of the special squad in tackling crime and criminality in Delta state, and reiterated the recent killing of suspects who killed two policemen in Effurun as an evidence of the proactive measures by the command. He called on Deltans to always provide useful information to the police in helping them secure the state, as he promised to work on the information with all secrecy.

Meanwhile, the second DPO of Orerokpe police station that was also shot, has fully recovered according to the Delta police commissioner.
