A United States, U.S., B-52 Bomber crashed on Monday evening while taking off at Edwards Air Force Base in California's Mojave Desert on routine test.
Air Force officials confirmed that the crash was not survivable, thus, the eight people on board died in the crash.
The Officials said that the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress took off at about 11:20 a.m. local time and ended in sudden crash, though, emergency crews immediately responded to the scene. Official release on Monday evening revealed that the plane was conveying eight persons on a routine test mission.
Officials at a news conference on Monday evening disclosed that the eight persons that died in the crash include a mixed crew of uniformed military, government civilians and contractors. The insisted that the identities of the victims will not be released until their families are notified of their deaths.
Colonel James Hayes, Deputy Commander for the 412 test wing at Edwards, at a news conference, declared: "We lost eight great Americans."
The cause of the crash is yet to be known. Officials said full investigation is expected to take up to six months.
