Britain Gets New Prime Minister, Andy Burnham; Keir Starmer Steps Down

Andy Burnham has succeeded Keir Starmer as Prime Minister of Britain. Burnham has become the 7th Prime Minister of Britain in the past 10 years - 2016 to 2026. Prime Minister Burnham visited King Charles III at Buckingham Palace for endorsement of official transfer of power. The emergent Prime Minister, Rt. Hon Andrew Burnham MP, honoured The King's offer and endorsement, including the recognition as "First Lord of the Treasury." Burnham, thereafter, travelled to 10 Downing Street to deliver his first address as prime minister, promising to end rough sleeping among the homeless and to act as a "circuit breaker" for a political system that has gone in the wrong direction since the 1980s.
