Ekiti Gets New Police Commissioner, 2 Days To Governorship Election

A new Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Shogunle, has been posted to take charge of security operations in Ekiti State.

CP Shogunle assumed duty on Wednesday, after being deployed by the Inspector‑General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, two days to Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.

On arrival, he activated a centralized operations framework and ordered joint deployments with sister security agencies to protect polling units, collation centres, INEC staff and voters.

Special anti‑thuggery and counter‑misinformation teams were sent to identified flashpoints.

The CP urged political actors and residents to cooperate with police and report any suspicious activity immediately.
