In order to grow the Nigerian Movie industry popularly known as Nollywood, popular actor cum politician, Honorable Desmond Elliot has called on the government to place a ban on foreign movies in Nigeria.

Desmond Elliot, who is currently representing the Surulere Constituency at the Lagos state house of Assembly, said the implosion of foreign movies in the Nigerian market is limiting the growth of local contents.

Speaking with Hip TV, Desmond opined banning foreign movies will give room for local contents to grow.

A lot of Nigerians, however, shared a different opinion with the popular actor as they have taken to the popular social media platform, Twitter to share their objections

Some believe Nollywood practitioners should step up their game in order to be able to compete with their foreign counterpart.
