Oyo female pilgrim disappears

The Muslim wing of the Oyo state pilgrims welfare board has disclosed that a female pilgrim, identified as Anifat Saheed absconded in Jeddah during the 2019 hajj operation in Saudi Arabia.

The chairman of the board, Prof. Sayed Malik disclosed this while presenting the reports of the 2019 hajj operation to Governor Seyi Makinde.

Professor Malik while presenting the report of the commission to governor Makinde disclosed that Anifat Saheed was one of the 914 pilgrims that took part in the 2019 hajj from the state.

He stressed that the disappearance of Saheed was noticed when the board was preparing the last batch of the pilgrims for their journey to King Abdulaziz International Airport on September 1st.

The chairman of the board revealed that over 24 million Naira was refunded to the pilgrims before their departure to Saudi Arabia due to reduction in the hajj fare.

Responding, Governor Seyi Makinde commended the chairman and other members of the board for a successful operation in spite of the fact that the process started before his administration.

He assured the board that the recommendations would be studied and acted upon for smooth hajj operation in 2020.
