Court remands suspects in P/Harcourt prison

The Magistrate Court sitting in PortHarcourt, the Rivers state capital has remanded in prison custody the two suspects alleged to have killed the jumia delivery agent, ElejiChukuma.


The two suspects Sodienye Mbatumukeke and Excel Divine Naabe who are facing a three count charge of conspiracy, murder and robbery were remanded in prison by the Chief Magistrate A.Oamadinna.

In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate noted that the Court lacks the jurisdiction to entertain the matter and ordered that the case file be handed over to the chief registrar, to be remitted to the Department of Public Prosecution for legal advice.

Recall that the suspects had on the 25th of March 2017 at Ada-Ede street,  in Mgubuoba, Port Harcourt  used pestle to Murdered a  jumai delivery agent and robbed him of two phones, infinix note 3 and iM-10 desktop GSM phone both worth one hundred and eighty one thousand naira.

Speaking to journalist outside the court room, one of the elder brother to the decease, accused the jumai company of not given the family attention and called on the police to carry out more investigation on the suspect.
