FCT Police Command Demolish Kidnappers Structures

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command, has demolished makeshift structures in the Paze–Byazhin hills, a border community between Kaduna and Niger states and the FCT, linked to alleged kidnapping and banditry activities.

According to the Command, the operation followed the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of several items, including cash.

What was previously described as an alleged convergence point for armed bandits and kidnappers, now lies in ruins following the arrest of four suspects.

The suspects, Yahaya Abdullahi, Muhammed Yunusa and Shamsudeen Mustapha, are allegedly involved in kidnapping and banditry activities within the FCT and adjoining states.

While destroying the makeshift structures and storage facilities used by the suspects, the command said one of the suspects, Hauwa Shafiu, who allegedly acted as a logistics supplier and cook for the group, was pregnant at the time of her arrest and has since delivered a baby.

In another operation, a 48-year-old Chinedu, was apprehended for allegedly keeping his sister in chains for 16 months for alleged ritual purposes.

The suspect, according to the police, also forcefully took the victim's son to an unknown location about two years ago.
