Senate Focused on Keeping Nigeria’s Economy Afloat – Lawan
The Nigerian Senate says its main focus in the second year of its lifespan is to ensure the economy remains afloat and avoid going into recession in the face of the current economic downturn.
Galaxy’s Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that this was the position stated by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan in his speech to mark the one year anniversary of the Ninth Senate during plenary on Thursday.
The Senate President said part of the measures to ensure the sustainability of the economy is the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari’s loan requests.
It will be recalled that the Ninth Senate was inaugurated on the 11th of June 2019.
